I'm still waiting on a localized release of Trails of Cold Steel 4, personally. Alas, that doesn't seem to be the case yet, but we'll be sure to keep you updated if it does. Even developers Nihon Falcom have stated their desire on the subject. With official PS4 ports of Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki due out in April, some fans had hoped it would mean that an official localization was coming. Even so, Zero and Azure are perfectly playable on their own without that knowledge, and vice versa. The events of Zero and its sequel are referenced in Trails of Cold Steel 2 it even included a brief section where main character Lloyd is playable to bridge the gap between the two games. Trails from Zero takes place shortly after the conclusion of the Trails in the Sky trilogy, running concurrently to the first Trails of Cold Steel. English players jumping in with only Trails in the Sky or Trails of Cold Steel experience should be right at home. As for the script, it has been meticulously overseen by ardent Trails fans to be as accurate and in-line with the official series releases as possible. New features include a turbo mode, a message log, and even autosaves. Numerous bugfixes and performance improvements have been made. The Geofront's patch features a number of enhancements beyond the translation edits, however. The same original team also released a translation patch for the sequel Ao no Kiseki ( Trails of Azure). The Trails from Zero patch is for the PC version of the game only there are currently no plans to release a PSP or Vita patch.Ī fan translation patch of Trails from Zero has existed for a while, but the Geofront set out to take that base translation and edit it to reach the standard of the officially localized releases. An enhanced version titled Zero no Kiseki: Evolution was also released on the Vita in 2012, featuring full voice acting for the main story. Zero no Kiseki originally released for the PSP back in 2010, with a PC release in 2013.
